For this season's collection, Elie Tahari's designer Kobi Halperin drew inspiration from vintage military blankets with an homage to Winter sports. A charcoal coat referenced traditional military detailing with a modern twist, with contrasting piping paired with tonal pants and a laser-perforated cotton shirt. Mixed textures updated classic shapes such as cashmere sweaters with leather piping, jackets with two-tone antique brass, silver zippers and double face wool coats with cashmere piping. Cashmere and wool sweaters in v-neck and crewneck styles lent a wintery feel with cabling and fading effects. Fabrics were developed using the engineered stripes that inspired the collection and used in the outerwear, shirting and knitwear. Outerwear was a key focus at Elie Tahari with a functional take on fashion. Special items included a mid-length cashmere wool coat with a detachable lining and a shearling bomber jacket with wool melton sleeves. The use of suede and leather with contrasting applications was also a key feature. Men’s suiting was shown as separates. The collection was punctuated by luxurious materials such as flannel, cotton metal wool, cotton metal velvet, and knitted jersey. Jackets were in two styles, as a soft casual shoulder or sharply constructed with a classic peak lapel. The masculine color palette of tabac and charcoal, black and brown, combined with the season’s classic fabrications updates in new proportions created a range of looks that provide men with a versatile modern wardrobe.
