Interview :
Lestat : Who is Bradley Soileau ?
Bradley : I was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, raised in New Orleans. Now I live in the Upper West Side of Manhattan temporarily. I'm French, German, and Spanish. I'm 25, I turn 26 very soon, kind of excited. I went to a lot of different schools and decided to drop out and get my GED because school was nothing I wanted to do. Throughout my short life, I've installed security alarms, built roofs and cabinets, and did trim carpentry. I was also the maintenance supervisor at a floor stripping/waxing/cleaning company. My modeling career started when my agent Dave Fothergill scouted me in the East Village on 1st ave and 7th st.
Lestat : How do you feel about modeling ?
Bradley : I don't necessarily care about modeling at all. I think shooting is cool and playing a character, and I like that I'll get to travel the world and meet new people, but this is just a stepping stone for something real.
Lestat : What’s a working day like ?
Bradley : A working day is cool, usually wake up early, take a shower and go to my shoot. During a shoot there's a lot of downtime so you get to talk to other models and crew and it's usually a lot of fun. On other days, I have castings and then I like to stay at home and work on my music.
Lestat : Who / what inspires you most in life in general ?
Bradley : No one inspires me but myself. I have a few friends that are doing big things and they motivate me, but inspiration is found inside myself. I like music and clothing.
Lestat : What was your latest assignment ?
Bradley : The latest shoot I did was for Interview magazine. It was cool, the concept was that we were a gang, it was a lot of fun, we shot on the roof of a hotel by Time Square.
Lestat : Is your inked skin an advantage or not ?
Bradley : I think my inked skin is an advantage and disadvantage. I get a lot of work, but I don't get catalogue work. My forehead tattoo says "war inside my head". It's a song by a band called Suicidal Tendencies. I got my first tattoo when I was 16. I got it covered up cause I got the same tattoo but bigger elsewhere. I have a plan for my back piece, but I don't have any other plans really. Most of my tattoos are just stupid ideas, none have any meaning. I have things like flying vaginas with fists punching out of them to Jeminy Cricket getting struck by lightning. they're just fun.
Lestat : What would be the perfect next assignment like ?
Bradley : Something that paid huge. Givenchy or something that I really like.
Lestat : What will be the next step ?
Bradley : I'm a dj, and I plan to travel djing clubs all over the world and then producing and releasing an album of dance music. I'd also like to have a clothing brand come out in the next few years. I've been working on it, but it's been hard work.
Lestat : Is love important to you ?
Bradley : Love is everything. Without it, what do we have ? We work and make money to buy fancy things to attract the opposite sex because we want love. If there wasn't love, the world would be a very violent cold place.
Lestat : What do you wear to bed ?
Bradley : To bed I wear boxers, unless I'm sleeping with a partner, then I wear nothing.
Lestat : Do you spend much time on the Internet ?
Bradley : I spend too much time on the Internet. I'm always on Twitter or Tumblr or scouring the Internet for new music.
Lestat : Answer the question you’d like to be asked.
Bradley : Where do I want to be in five years ?...Everywhere in the whole fucking world.
