For this season's collection entitled "The good son", Mexican label Los Vladimirovich Владимирович Marath & Yurik Menswear Collective (LVM&Y.MC) considered the invisible wall that separates people from reality… Family. The design that resulted from this brainstorming is mainly based on the idea of the search for an outside family as a social group… Friends. Something that weaves brotherly bonds : gangs, haters, mafias, clans, tribes, sects, organizations, paramilitary groups… Any group in wich the individual, by violating the ideas and moral values of its nuclear family shows they're worth it. All of this applied in deconstructing the garments with zippers and layerings, shadows, patterns and geometrical cuts. The collection was psychologically inspired by a Greek film by Yorgos Lanthimos "Dogtooth" (2009), starring Christos Stergioglou, Michelle Valley, Aggeliki Papoulia, Mary Tsoni and Christos Passalis. It's about a married couple and their three young adult children, a son and two daughters, living in a large compound with a garden and a swimming pool. A tall fence surrounds the property and the children have never been on the other side of it, for their parents have kept them unaware of the outside world, even of the existence of the telephone. They are taught different meanings for everyday words. For example, they are told that a "zombie" is "a small yellow flower," and that "sea" is a chair -something illustrated in The Vladimirovich 's lookbook featuring Marcel Castenmiller shot by Giovanni Cervantes. The parents promise that each child will be ready to venture outside the compound once she or he has lost a dogtooth. Although the children are told they have a brother just on the other side of the barrier, he never appears.
