After a seven year hiatus, Trinidad-born socialite designer Francis Hendy presented this season's collection during the New York Fashion Week at the Samsung Experience in Time Warner Center, and Hollywood Heavy was on hand to check it out. Inspired by the lush tropical ambiance and the vibrant style of the Carribean visit he enjoyed recently, his offering cascaded steamy and pulsating moods. "My trip to Tobago was a rejuvenating experience, the beauty of nature and the simplicity of island life and my collection reflects that energy and style", he quipped. Francis Hendy is known for his Carribean flare anyhow, and that was apparent in his sexy casualwear, which had a strong touch of tropical color and exotic prints. The highlight of the show was an array of tailored suits, that came in color to suit ever mood. His vintage yet modern take on menswear in bold prints and retro styles were ultimate attestation of the Carribbean culture inspiration. Over the years, his signature has gained him a reputation with a rock'n'roll sensibility. His impeccable tailoring and craftsmanship has made him a favorite among celebrities including Beyonce, JZ, Rhianna, and the Black Eyed Pea. Definitely a nice foretaste of the Summer vacation to come.
