Hailing from Elista, the capital city of the Republic of Kalmykia, the only Buddhist region in Europe and an international chess hub, Nikolay Dzhevakov was a professional soldier when scout Andrei Honkko gave him his business card. Now a veteran of the Russian runway, he débuted in Milan last January. He currently resides in Moscow.
