James Whiteside aka JbDubs, is a pop artist as well as a principal dancer with the Boston Ballet. He writes his music and choreographs his performances. His work has been featured on the Here! shows "Boombox" and "She’s living for this", which are broadcast to all major cable network providers. As a dancer with Boston Ballet, he has performed leading roles in such classics as "The Nutcracker", "Romeo & Juliet", "Sleeping Beauty", "Giselle", "Coppelia", "Don Quixote", and more.
JbDubs’ original music video for his song "I hate my job" was featured in various magazines around the world. If you look closely, you can see references to Britney Spears’ and Janet Jackson’s choreography, iconic Lady Gaga hand gestures and Beyonce’s vid for "Single Ladies". The fierce backup dancers are Bradley Schlagheck and Lawrence Rines, also with Boston Ballet. The track is lifted from his début album, "Free to love", which is a collection of James Whiteside's experiences from when he was a kid growing up in the suburbs of Connecticut, to his latest loves and losses as an adult. And subsequently, his sophomore album, "Oink", is about the way he deals with men and is a very honest way of looking at a gay relationship. Most importantly, it’s a pop album he made with real and personal subject matter. "F*** em all" is the first single from it. The video was shot in the same warehouse where "Shutter Island" was filmed.
