hummel -with a small h- was founded in Hamburg, Germany in 1923 by shoemaker Albert Messmer who developed one of the first football cleats the world has ever seen. Jørgen Vodsgaard bought the label in 1980 and the company became 100% Danish. For this season, hummel presents a fresh and innovative take on international male high fashion sportswear by introducing an exclusive capsule collection in collaboration with Japanese brand Masterpiece. The limited edition collection ‘hummel J’ consists of twenty-four pieces of cool, distinctive and streamlined sportswear reflecting a dynamic fusion between Scandinavian active lifestyle and Japanese fashion. The union is inventively captured in the use of high-tech materials, prints and colors as well as in the collection’s signature logo tags with apparent references to the Danish and Japanese national flags. The DNA of this collection is naturally hummel’s iconic bumblebee logo and chevron but in revamped versions put into a new context. The selection of jackets is wide : sporty lightweight hooded wind-breakers with bold bumblebee digital print and draped rays of neon colors, a simplistic rib coat and parka and finally a classic yet modern stadium jacket and a quilted down vest elegantly mixing wool and leather for a clean understated look. Sporty pants and shorts with either a slim or causal fit illustrate the smart use of breathable high performance, water-resistant materials blended with wool or cotton. This accentuates the innovative fashion fusion of a futuristic Japanese outlook with hummel’s casual and functional active wear. Sweaters in wool/cotton blend and tee-shirts with oversized chevron pattern underline the noble and tailor-made/custom-made mood of the Danish and Japanese design collaboration. Last but not least, a selection of two bags co-designed by Masterpiece in navy wool with leather trimmings and straps demonstrate the project’s bold and exclusive fashion vision.

The Wanted - "I found you"

Max George, Nathan Sykes, Tom Parker, Jay McGuiness and Siva Kaneswaran, the lads of Brit boy band The Wanted are back with a new video for their hit "I found you", produced by Steve Mac again, due to be released on November 4th as the lead single from their third studio album. The music video, directed by Chris Marrs Piliero, was filmed on the week beginning August 27 in Los Angeles. It's a sexy, sultry track with a dance beat that evokes their breakout hit plus the added twist of soul-inflected baby-makin’ falsetto vocals on the chorus, so it makes sense that the accompanying video clip would also be sexy. It starts off with long deliberate 'Reservoir Dogs'-evoking shots of the band pacing down the street, while a beautiful blonde is bound and gagged in a house somewhere. The boybanders come to the rescue but there’s an out-of-left-field plot twist in the final moments of the clip that shakes things up a bit.

This season's protagonist has dedicated himself to exploration. Zurich-based designer Marc Stone offered up some functional coats, asymmetric layered jackets and refined knits in a collection inspired by an expedition into unknown and forgotten worlds, and that walks the stylish line between classic and quirky. The distinctive choices of cold dyed cottons, delicate wools and sophisticated hi-tech blended fabrics offer a natural touch. There’s a lot of shades of gray, black and moss going on, which, given these days of color-blocking, actually helps the clothing to stand out. Marc Stone added some nuances of dark ash blues to refresh black pepper and frozen ginger hues. The designer's research and development takes you on a journey with an inventive combination of a classical-modern style spiced with a hint of adventure. Besides, there’s a lot to play with in terms of proportions, textures and structures that’ll make some of these pieces last for plenty of seasons to come.
